Annelise, our middle child, is one of a kind. She always says or does the funniest or cutest things, and Nappy and I find ourselves turning our heads to laugh or trying hard to hold the laughter sometimes. Her little quips and actions come so randomly sometimes that it just throws you off. She could be in big trouble and in the middle of being disciplined and yet find a way to just crack us up. So anyway, recently there were two incidents that were hilarious and worth mentioning.
#1: A few weeks ago, Nappy opened up his dental office and participated in a local mission here in Portland, called Compassion Southeast. This mission was offering free dental services to those who could not otherwise afford dental care. So after being screened, people would be bussed to our office where they would receive free treatment and then get picked up. One particular patient came to our office and received some treatment. When he was done, we went back to the waiting room to wait for his ride. At the time, Zoe and Annelise were playing in the waiting room with the toys and saw this patient sitting with gauze in his mouth. Annelise proceeds to say in bewilderment, "You didn't get a toothbrush and a toy?"
#2: Annelise was playing in the living room today with Nappy and she was about to jump off the top of the couch. Nappy told her that if she jumped she could fall on her head and possibly hurt herself really bad and then we'd have to take her to the hospital. She says to her dad, "At the hospital, will they give me a new head?"
Oh Annelise, what would we do without you in our lives to brighten up our days!
